Executive Director's Note:

ECHO Adds Leadership by Welcoming New Board of Directors! (As featured in ECHO: The Next 30 Days for April 2008)

ECHO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

ECHO’s mission is to develop and communicate educational and emergency information about issues affecting the health and safety of limited-English proficient populations.  Our collaborative work is supported by government, non-profit, community-based and private organizations.  Without the support of these individuals, organizations, staff, cultural agents, and volunteers, ECHO could not succeed (we thank you all!).
Since 2004, ECHO was guided by a mostly government lead Steering Committee.  ECHO is now guided by its its Board of Directors, a diverse group of individuals willing to share their professional skills and resources to support ECHO’s mission by providing responsible care, management and control of ECHO’s general operations.

The membership of the  board of directors is made of representatives from  local and state public health, public safety and emergency managers, health plans, hospitals and clinics, media organizations, educational institutions, private , human services agencies and non-profit agencies whose mission is to support  limited English speaking individuals and families, refugees, immigrants and new Americans.

The ECHO Board of Directors meet often with some Board members providing extra time providing guidance and leadership to one (or more) of ECHO’s committees.  Minutes of all ECHO committee and Board of Directors meetings are available after their approval at the following month’s board meeting. Questions about the Board of Directors, committees and ECHO operation should be directed to the executive director.
