ECHO Alert – H1N1 Influenza
Many people are worried about the new strain of Influenza, called H1N1, that is circulating in many communities. Currently, H1N1 is acting like regular seasonal influenza. It is generally mild, but may cause more serious illness in the very young, the very old, and persons with chronic medical conditions.

ECHO has print and video resources on preventing Seasonal Flu available in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese, Lao, Khmer and English.
Translated materials on H1N1 Influenza are available in multiple languages from www.diversitypreparedness.org.
If you have questions or concerns about H1N1 Influenza, call the Minnesota Dept. of Health (MDH) hotline at 1-800-657-3903, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
For more information, visit MDH for H1N1 materials in English and Spanish, or the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for additional English and Spanish resources.
